Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will not be sold separately

Responding to a question asked in an official FAQ, publisher Activision has confirmed the remastered version of *Call of Duty: Modern Warfare*, will not be available for individual purchase.

Instead, the revamped iteration of 2007’s seminal first-person shooter will only be available, via download, in the special edition bundles of the hugely successful series’ next title – *Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare*.

Only the Legacy, Legacy Pro, and Digital Deluxe Pro editions of *Infinite Warfare* will include the updated copy of *Modern Warfare*, adding insult to injury for veterans of the franchise. Essentially, this means it’ll cost you a minimum of £79.99 / $79.99 to enjoy Infinity Ward’s classic shooter; the bitter icing on the disappointment cake.

Even though the plans for *Modern Warfare*’s makeover are undeniably exciting, with updated character models, animations, and a stand-alone multiplayer mode, a separate release would have been much more inclusive and far less mercenary on the part of the publishers and developers.

Indeed, the combination of limited availability and high prices will, and already has, left many fans understandably frustrated with Activision.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is due for release November 4 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC – if you’re still interested in playing the game for its own sake, or are more interested in experiencing Modern Warfare on the current generation of consoles.
